Valley Center Library hosts Western Days community carnival

The Valley Center Library hosted a carnival for the community titled "Western Days." It sprawled across the library parking lot and beyond attracting several hundred people during three hours of fun in the sun. Not only was admission gratis, but it was an event with benefits. Plenty of gift bag and miscellaneous swag was available along with free food. Good vibes abounded at the event that featured local community groups with tables and fun facts about their groups along with gifts and the all-important passport stamp. Guests went from booth to booth accumulating stamps that were transformed by event alchemy into free loot bags. Other event highlights included a Wild Wonders live animal show, bands, Doves of Love, and Western Days opening ceremonies. Accompanying Library Director José Aponte during his visit was Valley Center Library Guild president Marian Klein, Friends of Valley Center Library president and one of five 2015 San Diego County Volunteers of the Year.
