All SDCL locations will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 23-24 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
We will be upgrading our system over the next several weeks to provide you with an improved library experience. Our website and library services will be
fully functional during this time; however, the catalog, My Account, and other online services will not be available during the following short periods:
November 21: 1:30 a.m.-7:30 a.m.  |  November 28: 5 a.m.-7 a.m.  |  December 5: 3 a.m.-6 a.m.

Get a Library Card

Apply online or visit your local SDCL branch to sign up. Bring a valid photo ID and proof of your current address with you to pick up your card. If you're under 18, you will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Library cards will not be renewed/replaced unless all overdue fines/fees are paid. Overdue accounts of $100 or more will be subject to collection agency action (Unique National Collections).

The customer is responsible for all materials borrowed on his/her card. Report lost or stolen library cards immediately.
