Día de los Niños

Día de los Niños is a celebration of children, families, and reading that culminates yearly on April 30. The celebration emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. San Diego County Library extends its celebration of Día throughout April.

National Library Week: April 8-14

SDCL is celebrating National Library Week! Follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and tell us what you love about your library using #ilovesdcl, or leave us a note at your local SDCL branch.
Native Voices at the Alpine Library

Native Voices: Native Peoples' Concepts of Health and Illness is a traveling exhibition that examines concepts of health and medicine among contemporary American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian people. The exhibition will open at the Alpine Library with a ceremony on April 5, and continue through the month of April.

Signature Events

Signature Events are annual programs that represent the spirit of each library branch's community.

DIY Fest & Fixit Clinic
Vista Library
Saturday, April 7 - 12-2 p.m.
This event will feature arts, crafts, demonstrations and other activities for all ages, as well as a Fixit Clinic where guests can work with coaches to fix broken household items. For more information, please call (760) 643-5100.

Art & Poetry Fest
Lakeside Library
Friday, April 20 - 6 p.m. (adults)
Saturday, April 21 - 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. (kids/teens)
Celebrate the winners of the Art & Poetry Contest and enjoy poetry readings, refreshments, face painting and more. For more information, please call (619) 443-1811.

Día de los Niños Celebration
Ramona Library
Tuesday, April 24 - 4 p.m.
Celebrate the Day of the Child with crafts, free books, and a folkloric dance performance. For more information, please call (760) 788-5270.

Rose Weekend
Del Mar Library
Thursday, April 26 - 6-8 p.m.
Friday, April 27 - 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
Come and see all the beautiful roses competing at this year's event, and enjoy a concert with Gregory Page on April 27 at 11 a.m. For more information, please call (858) 755-1666.
