San Diego County Library is offering a variety of programs and activities in June.

SDCL has programs for customers of all ages, only some of which are highlighted below. Be sure to check out our full events calendar to find programs that interest you.
Take the Summer Reading Challenge

The 2018 Summer Reading Challenge starts today! Customers of all ages can earn prizes by reading books and completing fun activities all summer long. The program runs through August 31.

Sign up at any SDCL branch or online at www.sdcl.org/summer.
Free Summer Meals

SDCL is offering free, healthy meals for kids and teens 18 and under at multiple branch locations this summer. No documentation or enrollment is required. Participating branches include: Borrego Springs, Casa de Oro, El Cajon, Jacumba, Julian, Lincoln Acres, Ramona, Spring Valley, Valley Center, and Vista.

Digital Storytelling Workshop

The Alpine Library is hosting a free two-day workshop for residents of rural San Diego County who would like to share stories about life in their communities. Each participant will create a 2-4 minute short film using family images, videos and archival material. The videos will become part of a statewide local story archive. No technical or creative experience necessary.
 
The workshop will be held June 18-19 and runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days. To apply, please visit www.storycenter.org/sandiegocounty. For more information, please contact Bill Sannwald at william.sannwald@sdcounty.ca.gov.
