MEET THE DIRECTOR AT SOLANA BEACH LIBRARY'S CUSTOMER APPRECIATION OPEN HOUSE

The Solana Beach Library, 157 Stevens Ave, is hosting a Customer Appreciation Open House that includes activities for all ages. The event includes an opportunity to meet José Aponte, Director of the San Diego County Library, which was recently named the winner of the national 2012 Library of the Year award. The event is taking place on Thursday, June 28 from 2-4 p.m. and will include music, refreshments, and an art display.
"The Customer Appreciation Open House is San Diego County Library's way of saying thank you to the people that give us our purpose," said Aponte. "The public is the driving force behind everything we do, and one of the best parts of my job is getting out and thanking the community for making our libraries great."
The Customer Appreciation Open House will feature harp music by local harpist Mair Rathburn. There will also be an art display featuring work created by the students of Joel Harris, 2012 Volunteer of the Year for the San Diego County Library. Refreshments and music are sponsored by the Friends of the Solana Beach Library.
