Summer at Your Library: Kids

The San Diego County Library (SDCL) has what your kids need for a memorable summer! Our summer programming combines learning and fun with programs like our Make and Take Craft Challenge, Lego Club, and Math Coaching. Kids can also take an art, music, or dance class and practice their board game skills at the library. See our programs and registration information in our events calendar.

SDCL can help you plan your next museum visit with Discover & Go. Reserve free day passes for local museums and attractions, including Balboa Park’s Museum of Us, the San Diego Archaeological Center, and the recently added City Heights Swim Center. Reserve at Discover & Go with your SDCL library card and get ready for discovery this summer! Passes are first come, first served, and can be reserved up to three months in advance.

Do you have a reluctant reader at home? SDCL can help! Help your child improve their literacy skills this summer while enjoying the characters and stories they love. Our digital collection includes Readalongs for Kids, where a narrator reads the book aloud, while your kid follows along. Access the collection through Libby or browse the Readalongs collection here. Our digital library is available from anywhere with just your library card.
