Those Crafty Kids!

It’s the perfect time of year to work on crafting and creating. Whether you are making outfits, knitting something warm for the cooler weather, or making a holiday present for a loved one, the library offers hundreds of physical and digital books that cover all sorts of crafts.

Crafting can help mental and physical health through reducing stress and anxiety, and it is a great way to improve fine motor skills and even boost your self-esteem. If someone begins a project they believe is too difficult, encourage them to continue, and the look of joy on their face as they complete the project will be worth it.

Crafting isn’t just for adults. Kids can enjoy sewing, knitting, creating crafts out of recyclable materials and/or nature and so much more. In a world full of screens and devices, crafting is a great alternative to pass a child’s time.

Did you know the library even offers digital crafting magazines? Whether your crafting comes in the form of knitting, paper, pottery, or even cooking, there is something for you with SDCL.
