Performers & Educators

San Diego County Library seeks experienced performers and educators to provide programs at library branches on an as-needed basis. All performers and educators must have an approved contract to do business with San Diego County Library branches. The application process, called a Request for Statement of Qualifications (RSFQ), is overseen by the County of San Diego’s Department of Purchasing and Contracting.

  • To get started, follow these steps:

    • Register your organization for an account in the BuyNet, the County of San Diego’s online supplier portal.
      • See the “Creating and Managing Supplier Profiles” guide on the BuyNet landing page for step-by-step instructions.
    • In the “commodities” section, pick one of the below options that best describes your organization. This will allow you to get notifications about relevant opportunities.
      • 82150000 – Professional artists and performers
      • 86130000 – Specialized educational services

  • Once you pass the background check, contact the Office of Security (contact information found in the Background packet), to receive your County Badge. 

  • Reach out to the Department of Purchasing and Contracting contact listed on the solicitation and email a picture of your County badge. Once completed, the County of San Diego will issue an As-Needed contract for an initial year with option years. 

  • Performers and educators are booked by individual branches on an as-needed basis. Branches may draw from a list of County approved vendors to book programs relevant to their communities.
