Get an eCard
San Diego County residents can sign up online and get immediate access to our eLibrary, which includes downloadable books, audiobooks and magazines, plus student resources, learning services and more.
If you’re under 18, you will need to have a parent or legal guardian fill out the application with you.
To check out physical items, you’ll need to convert your eCard to a Standard Card at any San Diego County Library branch. Your new Standard Card number will replace the eCard number.
Get a Standard Card
Visit any San Diego County Library branch to get your Standard Card and start borrowing physical materials.
Bring a picture ID and proof of your current address with you. If you’re under 18, you will need to be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Non-San Diego County residents will have access to physical materials, but will not have access to Libby, eLibrary resources, Link+ and Circuit, Inter-library Loan, or Discover & Go.
